Umberto is a freelance photographer,available to travel anywhere in the world,Umberto was born in Italy and he spent most of his life in Rome, Since back in 1987 Umberto had a keen interest in photography.Umberto’s photography experience is varied. He started to work as a volunteer for civil protection in 1987 then, at the age of seventeen, he began to approach photography and his first assignment was a reportage on a dramatic car accident for the newspaper “Paese Sera”.In 1991 he took off for Yugoslavia (where the war was about to break, then flared for long and terrible years) as a photojournalist for a German news agency. In 1992, he started to work for the sport section of the newspaper “Corriere Laziale” following the Tour of Italy,cycling sector.His real passion has always been the crime news. Since 1997 his photographs have been constantly published on the national newspapers as “Corriere della Sera”, “La Repubblica”, “Il Messaggero”, “Metro”, ”Il Tempo”, most of all on the crime news section.He also started to works as a freelance for the international news agency Associated Press and as videoreporter for Aicanews agency.The work does not make him forget his commitment to volunteer for the civil protection, which he plays with the same intensity as a photographer. Every day Umberto is on the road hunting for fresh news, always ready to take the perfect “click” at the right time.
